About me
Hi, I'm Juno (they/them)! I'm a software engineer based in southern California. You can find me here on Github!
I started coding when I was 12 because I wanted to better personalize the look of my anime blog on Tumblr. I started out by just copying and pasting themes other people had written (honestly though, who didn't start coding via copy and paste?) but eventually I wanted to know what all the strange words were actually doing, so I started diving into HTML, CSS, and Javascript from there! I had a lot of fun with it and thought hey, maybe I could do this as a job when I grow up.
The rest is history. I've been coding professionally since late 2020. I've got a little over 2 years of experience under my belt doing full-stack work with React, Node.js, Graphql, Elixir, and Elm, among other technologies, in both freelance and startup settings.
My passion definitely lies on the frontend side of things though! As someone who's always valued inclusivity, I find myself most interested in implementing solutions to the ever-evolving problems in the accessibility space. I think the beauty of the web lies in the fact that it has been able to instantly connect people regardless of their physical distance apart who may never have come to know each other otherwise, and I want to ensure that even those with disabilities can easily partake in this sense of community! Also I just like making things look pretty :)
When I'm not coding, I like designing UIs, styling outfits, petting my cats, and reading the works of Ursula K. Le Guin. I'd love to chat about any of those things in addition to tech!
Thanks for reading!
